DAILY TIMETABLE
Starting nursery can be a daunting experience for both children and their parents and you properly have lots of questions going through your mind here we aim to help answer some of the most common ones….
What if my child gets upset and I’m not there?
Don’t worry the nursery staff will offer your child TLC and reassurance in your absence and if your child cannot be settled we would contact you to inform you.
How will my child cope going to the toilet on their own?
The nursery staff are there to assist the children and will keep up whatever routine you use at home e.g. pull-ups etc but we do ask if your child is potty training to supply a large selection of spare clothes to allow for any accidents should they occur. We will assist children in the toilet for as long as help is needed.
What if my child gets tired?
We do have pull out beds and blankets for the children to have a rest after lunch if they request or parents ask for one. Staff will sit with the children until they fall asleep. At this time of the day children are encouraged to bring in a bottle, dummy or teddy if needed to help them sleep.
What will my child do all day?
Please see our daily timetable. We offer a huge variety of activities including
But my child is a vegetarian/really fussy eater, will they be hungry?
At Country Kids we believe in promoting a balanced diet. If you have any special dietary requirements for your child, we will of course follow your instructions. Unless we are specifically told that your child is not allowed certain foods, we will encourage them to try a wide selection of foods.
My child’s language is slightly unclear, who will understand them?
Our staff are trained in various methods of communication i.e. Makaton, to help promote early literacy skills. Once the Nursery is familiar with your child they will understand your child’s own unique way of communication.
Will my child have access to a garden area?
We have access to a small garden area at the back of the hall for use on nice days for story times, small group activities. Also opposite the hall is a large field for physical play, and a short walk down the lane is a children’s playground in a secure area, which we have access to.
What if my child has an accident?
If your child has a minor accident we will comfort your child offer the appropriate treatment and ask you to sign an accident report when you collect your child. If the accident is more serious we will alert you ASAP and call for the appropriate help.
Will my child go out on any trips?
On occasions we will ask your permission to take the children on local trips for educational purposes. Notices will be sent home prior to any days out, giving full instructions of where we are going etc. and the purpose of our trip for your approval.
What will my child be learning?
Please see our curriculum section outlined in this prospectus.
How will you prepare my child for school?
In the terms prior to your child attending primary school we will encourage them to talk about school life i.e. what happens at school, the differences they will experience, we will discuss any fears they may have, and start teaching them about changing clothes ready for PE lessons etc.
When does my child receive free nursery education places?
Every child will be entitled to claim 5 free 2.5 hour sessions in the term after their 3rd birthday until they start school.
How will I know how my child is developing?
We will send home your child’s records (profile) every 4 months for you to read and add to. If you wish to meet with your child’s Keyworker in between this time please let us know a convient time.
How will I be charged?
Fees are charged four weekly in advance, but may be paid on a weekly basis if prior arrangements are made with the manager. At the beginning of each four week period you will be invoiced, if you fail to pay the 1st invoice within two weeks, a 2nd invoice (a red one marked urgent) will be issued with a warning that if arrangements for paying the fees are not made immediately your child’s place at nursery may be at risk. If we need to issue a 3rd invoice we will start to make arrangements for the debt to be collected by an outside agency and cancel your child’s place with immediate effect.
When your child starts nursery you will be billed for the first four weeks and then receive regular monthly invoices, which you can pay by cash or chq.
How often is the nursery closed?
The nursery is closed for 1 week at Christmas, on all public holidays and for three staff training days, all the dates of the above will be announced in due course with plenty of notice.
What happens if my child is ill do I still have to pay?
Yes as this secures a place for child to return to when they are well again.
Do you provide aprons?
Yes and we do try to ensure children wear them but in case of an accident we still recommend you send your child to nursery in old clothes in case of an accident.
Does my child have to be out of nappies?
No the nursery staff will offer assistance to your child when the timing is right for you both.
